The tapir is a snouty beast that lives at our local zoo. Lillia was unimpressed by the tapir. She seemed less than impressed by many animals at the zoo. Domestic pets like dogs and cats are easier to understand, or in the case of our poor Lillia-neglected bunnies, ignore. Brightly colored objects now, there's the ticket to excitement, and the carousel at the zoo seemed a likely venture for our 14 month old. So for a mere three dollars (a paltry sum for a family of means such as our own) up went mommy and Lillia onto the carousel. The animal chosen, a tapir. For a full 15 seconds, Lillia frolicked. Then doubt began to creep in, and soon she was all a-panic, gripping at mommy's clothes in terror at the moment.
She survived, and Lillia and daddy had a more sedate turn on the sleigh.

I wanted to ride the horsey.
