Today we matched with our new daughter.

Her Chinese name is Chun Hua Lu and she was born on May 20th, 2005, making her about 8 months old.

She is at an orphanage in Yangchun, which is in southern China. Our travel date will be in 6-8 weeks.

Yes, she is adorable. And big.

Love, Tom and Suzanne

Early January, and still no news about our daughter. We last heard before Christmas that matches for children have been made for parents with log in dates up to April 25th. Ours was April 27th, so we wait. Groups tend to be three to six weeks apart. I expect it will be any day now.

Neither Suzanne or I am nervous about this. We have been both waiting so long, a few more days won't matter.

The pictures are of us in the Lake District, in England with our friend Susanne Sklar, and also a little closer to home in Crested Butte, Colorado.

Best wishes all.

This blog is dedicated to the adoption of our daughter, as yet unknown, from China, sometime in the near future. Our Documents to China (DTC) date was April 27th, following a long, long, (yes--long and complicated) process of personal vetting by an adoption agency, a social worker, our local state police, and the People's Republic of China.

This blog is meant as a travelogue, a place to post pictures and news, but we as yet do not have a travel date. January or February seems most likely. If so, we will be traveling in the middle of winter to China. It will either be cold or very cold, unless of course Kwan Yin intervenes and the great bureaucracy sees fit to send us to Hainan island for our little girl.

I'll post news as it comes up, and once we are in China, as internet access is available

Hope she likes rabbits. I am holding Benjamin, Suzanne is holding Jackie O.

More later.
